Sadly
after a long illness we lost Nigel Bolt, series coordinator of
the Sports Racing and GT Challenge, on the 13th may 2010. Nigel
was recruited some 9 years ago as a long-standing friend of one
of the most keen and dedicated drivers in SRGT, and was in a great
part responsible for its renaissance. He forged a strong link
with the 750 motor club and good relationships with SUNBAC, SEMSEC
and CSCC, resulting in great racing, full grids and some of the
best years of the Challenge.
Nigel
fitted in well with what has been described as the friendliest
series in the country. He had the advantage of an excellent background
knowledge of historic cars coupled with previous experience of
club motorsport, having previously supported his son with his
Westfield. Nigel was immensely popular with drivers and their
teams, officials and scrutineers, having the rare knack of being
both liked and respected. His ability to sort out the many and
various problems confronting him with competence and humour was
never underestimated, and he will be sincerely and deeply missed
by all who knew him.
From
all within the Sports Racing and GT series we offer our sincere
condolences to Diana, and their children Andy and Kate.
